Hanoi’s Vendors

Vast parts of present-day Hanoi were built during the French colonial occupation such as the bridge in this photo.  With its broad boulevards and a French-inspired architecture, the city has a noticeable structural charm. After the end of the bombardments in October 1968, the city again grew rapidly.  Today it is a haven for ex-pats escaping the US and Europe.
